What are Hygroreceptors

Hygroreceptors

The receptors which detect the water content of air are called hygroreceptors.

For example

Hygroreceptors are present in insects.

Explanation

Hygroreceptors are present in some insects. They can detect very small changes in the humidity. They seek environment with a specific humidity with the help of hygroreceptors. These receptors are present on the antennae, palps, inside of the body and near the spiracles of insects. But their mechanism is unspecified.
